Apple Raises 3G Download Limit for Apps

The 3G download limit for apps has doubled.  You can now download apps up to 20MB on 3G.  For an app larger than 20MB, you must connect to a Wi-Fi network or use iTunes on your computer.

Apple and AT&T have been loosening up on bandwidth requirements lately.  Last month Apple started allowing VoIP apps to make calls over the 3G network, before that they were limited to Wi-Fi.  And just recently Apple allowed the video streaming app Slingplayer to use 3G.  The original version of the app had this capability but Apple wouldn’t approve it until they made it Wi-Fi only.
