Review: iDisplay for iPad, Turn Your iPad Into a Secondary Display
Posted on April 7, 2010 by eli courey
iDisplay lets you use your iPad or iPhone as a secondary display on a Mac. You just install an extension on OS X and it will trick the OS into thinking your iPad or iPhone is a monitor. It works over your Wi-Fi connection, which is pretty awesome because it gives you a wireless display.
Another cool feature is that it lets you use your iPad or iPhone’s onscreen keyboard and also and works as a multi-touch input device.
For $4.99, this is a very cool app for the iPad. As far as the iPhone, the screen isn’t really large enough to be able to use it for much, but it is nice to be able to use it for multi-touch. Just imagine being able to easily carry your computer display around your house with you, that’s what iDisplay gives you the ability to do. I’ve been using it for a few days now and I keep coming up with more uses that I don’t know how I lived without before.
Windows support is coming soon.
Check it out in the App Store.
