How to Access iPad and iPhone Files From the Finder

MacStories has a great tutorial on how to access your jailbroken iPad or iPhone files from the Finder on your Mac.  You just install something from Cydia called Netatalk, a free and open source implementation of Apple Talk.  Make sure you reboot the device after the installation has completed.  As long as your iPad or iPhone are connected to the same local network as your Mac, you should see the device show up under “Shared” in the Finder.   The default username and password is “root” and “alpine”.

Check out MacStories’ tutorial for more detailed instructions and some great tips, like creating aliases for quick access to your documents and media.
