iPhone 4 is Faster than 3GS and Slower than iPad in Early Benchmarks

Benchmark tests show that the iPhone 4 is 31% faster than the iPhone 3GS, according to the Geekbench 2 app.  A few benchmarking utilities show that the iPhone 4 is slower than the iPad.  They both have the same Apple A4 processor, but it’s unclear if the iPhone 4 has been clocked at a slower speed than the iPad’s 1GHz.
