Facebook for iPhone App Updated for iOS 4 Fast App Switching

Facebook for iPhone has been updated to 3.1.4 and now supports iOS 4s Fast App Switching.  This update comes less than two weeks after the last update, version 3.1.3.  This new update also includes high-resolution icons for the iPhone 4s Retina Display.  Check it out in the App Store.

And while we’re on the subject of Facebook, I’ve had some readers ask if a Facebook for iPad is in the works.  I haven’t heard of anything, and I also don’t really think it’s necessary.  Browsing Facebook on Safari for iPad is almost perfect.  Instead of making an iPad app, I would rather them just make the website more touch-friendly.  Facebook has some buttons on their site that don’t appear until the cursor is over them, like the Hide button in the News Feed, and this doesn’t work very well with a touch-interface that doesn’t have a cursor.  And for some reason Chat doesn’t work on Safari for iPad.  I’ve been contacting Facebook about these requests, so let me know if you have any more suggestions.
