Apple Removes Camera+ From App Store

Apple has removed Camera+ from the App Store after it was revealed a few days ago that you could enable VolumeSnape on the Camera+ app through an easter egg, a violation of the App Store rules. TapTapTap, the developer of Camera+, had tried to allow you to use the volume button to take a picture in their latest update, but was rejected for the following reason:

Your application cannot be added to the App Store because it uses iPhone volume buttons in a non-standard way, potentially resulting in user confusion. Changing the behavior of iPhone external hardware buttons is a violation of the iPhone Developer Program License Agreement. Applications must adhere to the iPhone Human Interface Guidelines as outlined in the iPhone Developer Program License Agreement section 3.3.7

So TapTapTap made a non-jailbreak workaround to enable the VolumeSnap feature by just visiting camplus://enablevolumesnap in the mobile Safari.

TapTapTap is one of the most prominent iOS developers, so it will be interesting to see if Apple does a complete ban or suspension.
