Get Colored Icons from iTunes 9.2 Back Into 10

Posted on September 3, 2010 by

One of the first things I noticed about iTunes 10 was the colorless icons. I guess it’s not a big deal, but I’m happy to know that there’s a hack to get the old icons back.

Download this zip file and follow the instructions below:

Right click and “Show Package Contents” on iTunes to show ‘Contents’ folder. Back up and replace your /Applications/ with the included file.

I’m running 10.6.4 too and it worked great. I wonder what the problem could be.

i’ve tried it a dozen times. it won’t work.

even tried installing a version from another person. it won’t work either.

figured it out. the “source text size” under the “general” tab in preferences has to be set to small for the colors to show up.
