.Mac HomePage Viewing Will Be Discontinued on November 8

HomePage was a webpage publishing tool offered as part of Apple’s .Mac service. MobileMe replaced .Mac in 2008 and Apple retired the HomePage application for publishing new pages. Today Apple has announced that viewing of all previously published pages will discontinue on November 8, 2010.
Apple’s alternative to HomePage is iWeb, which is part of the iLife software package. iWeb lets you publish your website to MobileMe or another hosting service. Although you can easily create nice looking websites in iWeb, you are not able to update it on another computer through a web interface. This is one feature that many iWeb users have been requesting. Maybe we’ll see this in the yet to be announced iLife ’11.
