It is being reported that Apple has purchased 98 acres of land from Hewlett-Packard near its home base in Cupertino. This will make Apple the city’s biggest land owner.

HP announced the sale this week but refused to identify the buyer. An Apple spokesman confirmed his company purchased the land.

“We now occupy 57 buildings in Cupertino and our campus is bursting at the seams,” said Apple’s Steve Dowling. “These offices will give us more space for our employees as we continue to grow.”
