Enabling Any HTML5 Video to Work Over AirPlay

Posted on March 14, 2011 by

With the release of iOS 4.3, Apple is allowing websites to add a special tag to their video to enable video streaming to the Apple TV using AirPlay. But you don’t have to wait for websites to update their code, because Ben Dodson has created a simple JavaScript bookmarklet to enable AirPlay video for any website.

First, save the following bookmark on your iPad or iPhone: HTML5 AirPlay Bookmarklet

Once the bookmark is saved, go to any site with HTML5 video and wait for the entire page to load. Then click on the bookmark you created. The video should disappear and then come back with AirPlay enabled.

Thanks Derek for the tip!
