SHAPE Services Acquires Developer of fone, Releasing IM+ Video App

According to TechCrunch, SHAPE Services, the company who created the popular IM+ instant messaging app, has aggreed to acquire CrispApp for approximately $200,000. CrispApp is the developer of fone, the iPhone app we reviewed a few months ago that lets you chat with and even call all your Facebook friends for free using VoIP.

As a result of the acquisition, SHAPE Services says it will launch a stand-alone iPhone app called IM+ Video and should be in the App Store within the next 10 days. IM+ Video will be a video chat app that lets you chat from mobile to mobile, mobile to desktop and the other way around. It will basically be the same concept as the fone voice chat app, except with video.
