Dropbox Updates Silently to Add Lion Support

Posted on August 20, 2011 by

Dropbox, the popular cloud-based file storage and sharing service, is in the process of rolling out an update that will offer compatibility with Lion, according to a post the the company’s support forum. The basic Dropbox service has been working in Lion, but the contextual menu that lets users copy a public URL for sharing files was absent.

Dropbox updates are normally done silently with no notification or timeframe. It will eventually be rolled out to all users, but if you’d like to do a manual update right now, the file is available on their website. The latest version for Mac is 1.1.40. To find out what version you are currently running, select Dropbox from the menu bar and choose Preferences and then Account.
