Apple Acquires Another 3D Mapping Company

Ever since Apple purchased mapping software firm Placebase in 2009 and the 3D mapping company Poly9 in 2010, rumors have been going around that Apple is planning on replacing Google Maps on iOS with their own app. Now 9to5Mac is reporting that Apple has acquired “mind-bowing 3D mapping company” C3 Technologies. Hopefully we’ll see some of this awesome technology in iOS 6 next year.
