Apple Accidentally Publishes iOS ‘GameStore’ Testing App in App Store

It looks like Apple accidentally published an internal testing app in the App Store. The app was called GameStore and went public on December 31, 2011, but was removed earlier today. The app was priced at $0.99 and described as allowing you to “buy different things from within the app.” There was a Product List tab which included items like “2 Lives” for $3 and “Ebook5” for $7.
While the app was listed as published on December 31, viewing it in the App Store on an iOS devices showed a post date of June 9, 2009. This was most likely an internal test tool used for testing in-app purchase functionality, but it’s strange that it ended up in the App Store.
