Thanks to iPad, Apple Becomes World’s Largest PC Manufacturer

Posted on January 25, 2012 by

Yesterday Apple reported record sales of both iPad and Mac last quarter, with 15.4 million iPads sold and 5.2 million Macs. With HP’s global sales of 14.7 PCs, Apple has easily surpassed the company to become the worlds largest PC manufacturer. Of course, this is if you count the iPad as a PC, but I don’t see any reason why someone wouldn’t. The iPad is much faster, simpler and virus free than any HP computer out there, so unless viruses and malware are what define a PC, then I say the iPad should count.

I’m sorry, “The iPad is much faster, simpler and virus free than any HP computer out there”, really? Did HP up and stop producing “PC’s” back when the Core 2 Duo was the “in” processor? Sure, the A5 chip and the graphics processors in the iPad 2 are pretty amazing, but faster than an i7 with a decent graphics card? I beg to differ sir!
