QuasiDisk iPhone Tethering App Sneaks into App Store

QuasiDisk is a $1.99 file manager app that just received a hidden internet tethering feature. I’m guessing Apple will pull it very soon, so you should get it quickly if you’re interested in tethering without jailbreaking or paying additional fees to your carrier.

To activate the tethering feature, just follow these steps:

  • Start QuasiDisk’s FTP server on port 5100
  • Create an ad-hoc network on your Mac or PC
  • Add the SOCKS and HTTP proxy settings to the computer on ports 5050 for SOCKS and 6666 for HTTP proxy

That’s it, you should now be able to use your iPhone’s 3G connection on your computer. Check out the video below for a demonstration of the setup.

    i downloaded it for my 4s, and it doesn’t work the app crashes every time I try to set the server port to 5100
