RUMOR: 15-Inch MacBook Air Coming Soon

Posted on March 15, 2012 by

There have been rumors going around for a while now that Apple is planning releasing a 15-inch MacBook Air, but so far it hasn’t happened. But today there is a new rumor that suggests Apple may be getting ready to introduce a 15-inch MacBook Air as soon as next month.

The following is from Electricpig, who says they heard from an anonymous vendor that Apple will launch the new MacBook Air in April of this year. I have a hard time believing that a vendor would already have this information, but I hope it’s true. With the success of the 11 and 13-inch MacBook Airs, I think it would make sense to have a 15-inch model. Even Steve Jobs once said “we think it’s the future of notebooks” during a MacBook Air keynote.

Alongside continued coos about how the new iPad’s display will ruin everything else in sight, we heard word from one anonymous vendor that Apple’s likely to launch a 15-inch MacBook Air in April, effectively killing the Pro for the average consumer … This particular company is a key player in MacBook docking solutions, so they’ve got to keep abreast of the finer details of what’s coming. And what is coming? If you take our source’s word for it, a 15-inch MacBook Air with ports on both sides, no optical drive and no ethernet cable.
