Tim Cook’s Visit to Valve’s Headquarters Today Starts Rumors of New Collaboration

Posted on April 13, 2012 by

Apple CEO Tim Cook was spotted at the headquarters of Valve Corporation earlier today in Bellevue, Washington. Valve makes popular games like Half-Life, Portal and Team Fortress among others. Valve also maintains the Steam gaming platform, which distributes over 1,400 games to over 30 million active users. Steam works similar to Apple’s iOS App Store, providing a market for PC and Mac game titles and delivers the latest software updates to players.

There are many rumors going around on why Cook was visiting Valve, one being the possibility of bringing Steam, in a more complete form, to iOS. Some also think it could be related to the rumored Steam Box, a console that could drastically change gaming in the living room.

We’ll keep you updated on any new information. Valve is a great gaming company, so I’m excited about the possibilities. Of course, it could mean nothing, but it could also be something as big as Apple buying Valve, now that would be awesome!

Thanks James at Pure Nintendo for the tip!
