iPhone 5 Parts Leak with Metal Back and New Dock Connector

Posted on May 29, 2012 by

Some parts of what appear to be Apple’s upcoming sixth generation iPhone have leaked. Many people are calling it the iPhone 5, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they go with a simpler name like iPhone. This new device seems to have a lot of differences compared to the current iPhone 4S, including a metal and glass rear case. It also has a new dock connector, redesigned speaker and the headphone jack has been moved to the bottom of the device.

The images below came from repair firm uBreakiFix and 9to5Mac. We haven’t seen any measurements on this new iPhone yet, but some of the images make it look longer. There have been rumors that the next iPhone will feature a taller screen with a measurement of 3.999 inches diagonally. The screen resolution would be 1136 x 640.

Smaller dock connector?  Good.  Propitiatory piece of crap dock connector?  Suck it Apple…

  2.  don’t get to excited.   I’m sure they will won’t just put a usb port.   It will be a new proprietary standard like thurderbolt.    They get to sell all new stereo docks,  alarm clocks/with docks, docking stations, battery packs to the everybody that has invested in them over the years.   Now all your accessories are no good, throw them away and buy it again with the new adapter.
