RUMOR: iOS 6 to Feature Redesigned iTunes Store, App Store and iBookstore

Apple’s upcoming iOS 6 will feature major design overhauls of the company’s three big digital stores, iTunes Store, App Store and iBookstore, according to sources familiar with the project. Social features will be a big part of the redesign, including Facebook integration.
One feature not expected to be included in the redesign is improved discoverability on the backend. Apple recently acquired the company Chomp, which focuses on improved discoverability of apps, but implementation of this technology is said to not be ready for the iOS 6 launch. I’m personally not convinced it won’t be ready by this fall, when I expect Apple to officially launch iOS 6, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t have it ready by next week when iOS 6 is unveiled. Most likely Apple will release a beta version of iOS 6 to developers next week, but that doesn’t necessarily mean additional features won’t be added before the final release.
