RUMOR: 13-Inch Retina MacBook Pro to Launch in October

Posted on June 18, 2012 by

Last week Apple releases the 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro, and now rumors are coming in that the company will release a 13-inch model sometime in October. The claim comes from KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has a good track record of Mac-related rumors, having accurately predicted that the 17-inch MacBook Pro would be discontinued.

From AppleInsider:

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI shared in a note with AppleInsider on Thursday that he expects Apple to ramp up production of a 13-inch next-generation MacBook Pro with Retina display in September. That would allow the product to hit stores in early October, in time for the holiday shopping season.

The 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display didn’t launch at WWDC due to production concerns, according to the report. The device is expected to ship with a similar configuration as the 15-inch model.

Keep in mind that this is just a rumor, but Kuo’s record is very good and a 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro definitely makes sense.
