Microsoft Will Not Add Retina Support to Office for Mac 2011

Microsoft already updated Outlook with Retina graphics as part of their Mountain Lion update, but the company has no plans to do the same for Word, Excel or PowerPoint. Many users have complained about how bad these apps look on the new MacBook Pro’s Retina display, but it sounds like Microsoft is more interested in ignoring new technology and the future…..which is obvious if you’ve seen Windows 8.

Office for Mac Team:

Outlook for Mac 2011 already supports Retina Display and the remaining apps will have the same viewing quality as on any non-Retina device. Unfortunately at this time, we cannot comment on any future updates regarding supporting Retina on Word, Excel or PowerPoint… Hope that helps!
