Apple is holding a media event at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco today at 10AM Pacific/1PM Eastern, and they are expected to unveil the 6th-generation iPhone, rumored to be called the iPhone 5. Other things that may be announced are a release date for iOS 6.0, updated iPods and a new version of iTunes.

Apple will not be providing live video coverage of the event, but many sites will be liveblogging with text and photo updates. We will also be updating the site throughout the day with information on today’s announcements, and be sure to follow us on Twitter @MacDaddyNews as the event unfolds.

Thanks Maria for providing us these pictures live from the event!

Apple’s online store is currently down in advance of the event. We will keep you updated on all the changes as once it goes back online later today.
