Apple Issues Invitations for September 10 Media Event

Apple sent out invitations for a media event with the tagline “This should brighten everyone’s day.” The company is expected to unveil its next-generation iPhone, most likely named the iPhone 5S. The event will begin at 10:00AM Pacific Time on September 10 and will be held at the company’s headquarters in Cupertino, California.

There are also rumors of a lower-cost “iPhone 5C” that will have components similar to the iPhone 5, but feature a plastic casing that comes in different colors. Since the iPod touch currently sells for $299, common sense makes me believe that this “cheaper iPhone” will cost a little more than that. The big selling point for some people would be that you don’t have to sign a contract with a phone company to purchase it.
