Apple Launches ‘Coming Soon’ Page for iOS 4.2 for iPad

Apple has created a “Coming Soon” site for iOS 4.2 for iPad. This update will finally bring multitasking, folders, a unified inbox in Mail and many other great features we’ve been enjoying on the iPhone since iOS 4.0. One of the major additions to this version will be the ability to print directly to a printer on a wireless network from your iPad. Although I think printing something to paper is archaic, this is a feature that many iPad users have been requesting ever since the launch.

A feature in iOS 4.2 that I’m looking forward to is the ability to find text on web pages in Safari. This is something I use all the time on my computer, and I’m excited Apple is bringing it to the iPad.

iOS 4.2 will be available sometime in November for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.

The Starcraft 2 Gameboard is set for release in September 2010. With the Starcraft 2 Gameboard, you will be able to remotely control your Starcraft 2 game from your iPhone, Ipad, or Ipod touch.  It will include many great features such as mini-map control, detailed unit statistics, and easy touch access to the games most important hotkeys and macros.

Apple Applies for Patent to Detect Unauthorized iOS Users

Apple applied for a patent on a method to differentiate between authorized and unauthorized users of a particular iOS device.  If an unauthorized user is detected, the device can automatically disable specific features.

From Ars Technica:

The patent, titled “Systems and Methods for Identifying Unauthorized Users of an Electronic Device,” describes several ways a device could sense who is using an iPhone or iPad. Among the methods considered are voice print analysis, photo analysis, heartbeat analysis (!), hacking attempts, or even “noting particular activities that can indicate suspicious behavior.” Read more
