Apple released their 5th iPhone and iPod touch app, MobileMe Gallery.  The functionality is as simple and elegant as the name suggests, pulling your MobileMe Gallery photos and movies from the cloud and showing them on your device. This could already be done through Safari, but the app makes it even easier.  Check it out in the App Store.

RUMOR: Expect an iPhone with Palm-like Touch Casing

iphone_magic_mouse

Goldman Sachs analyst Robert Chen in acomment Thursday claimed to know that Apple will build an unusual touch-sensitive casing for the next iPhone. Without naming his sources, the researcher says the iPhone will use a plastic shell similar to that of the Magic Mouse, which supports touch functions despite its curved surface. More conventionally, Chen echoes leaks of a 5-megapixel camera making its way into the device.

RUMOR: Apple Considering Offering a Stylus

From Mac Rumors:

Given Steve Jobs’ distaste for styluses, it comes as a surprise that Apple has recently applied for a patent application exploring the use of a stylus for the capacitive touch sensors found on the iPhone. Unlike therecently revived Newton patent, this new patent was actually filed with today’s technology in mind.

The document explores the use of a stylus on modern devices such as the iPhone which are typically tuned for finger detection. Unlike older resistive screens, the new capacitive screens require styluses to have special conductive tips in order to be recognized. While we don’t expect Apple to offer a stylus for the iPhone, the input methods for the upcoming tablet has remained up for debate.

RUMOR: Apple’s Next Generation Dual-core iPhone Available in April/June

I wouldn’t put too much trust in this rumor, but I thought it was worth reporting anyway.  The Korea Times claims that sources tell them the new iPhone will have an OLED screen, video chat and a removable battery.  They also say it will include a dual-core processor, more powerful graphics capabilities and a superior camera.

They say that the new iPhone will be sold to corporate clients in April and the everyone else in June.  This part of the rumor is not believable at all to me.

RUMOR: Photo of 10″ Apple Tablet Glass

The Mac Observer says a source sent them a photograph of what is claimed to be the glass to be used in Apple’s yet to be announced tablet device.  The Mac Observer says they trust the source, but I have a hard time believing it.  Hopefully we’ll find out soon.

From Mac Observer:

We aren’t positive about how this device would be presented, but we thought it made the most sense in a vertical alignment. If it is legit, one would think that the slot at the top is for a speaker, while the hole in the upper left could be for a camera lens. The button on the bottom, of course, would likely be a Home button, the same with the iPhone.

We weren’t able to double source the image, but we do trust the source that provided us with the image. Apple is expected to launch an iPhone OS-based tablet device later this month.
