Apple purchased a small Silicon Valley startup, WifiSLAM. The company specializes in extending location data and positioning to indoor locations using WiFi triangulation. Apple has released two new iPad commercials titled “Alive” and “Together.” The ads highlight some of the 300,000 apps made specifically for the iPad. Apps shown in the ads include AmpliTube, Style.com, GarageBand, TED, iMovie, iBooks,Dinosaur Zoo, Toca Hair Salon, The Lonely Beast ABC, Brian Cox’s Wonders of the Universe, Vimeo, Rockmate, Glow Hockey 2 HD, and FaceTime.

Twitter released its first-party version of Vine, an iPhone app that the company acquired the rights to in 2012.
