BusinessWeek has written an article about how Verizon Wireless has been upgrading its network so it will be ready for the iPhone in the event that Apple drops AT&T as the exclusive carrier.  Anthony Melone, Verizon Wireless Chief Technology Officer, says “we have put things in place already…we are prepared to support the traffic.”

Personally, I wouldn’t switch to Verizon unless they could offer faster data speeds and the ability to do voice and data simultaneously.
