Apple has hired Nokia’s Luma photography chief Ari Partinen. The news comes after Partinen stated on Twitter tha he will be “starting a new chapter in Cupertino” this June, and then later confirming that he will join Apple.
Partinen’s responsibilities at Nokia included working with image quality characterization and tuning on camera module level. He also handled camera component production and quality control on a global scale. Some of the devices he worked on are Nokia’s 808 PureView and Nokia N8, which are regarded for their photographic capabilities.
Most likely Partinen will work closely with the next-generation iPhone’s camera, which is rumored to include optical image stabilization and other improvements.
Today will be my last day working for the amazing #Lumia family. In June I will start a new chapter in Cupertino, California. Much love!

@bharadc23 Thank you for great discussions and feedback! (And it is the company you are thinking assuming you are thinking Apple) =)
